FLORENCE, Ala. -When it comes to the satisfaction of students, the University of North Alabama is better than most national and southern four-year public universities.

UNA scored higher than both the national and southern averages on specific key indicators of a recent Ruffalo Noel-Levitz (RNL) Student Satisfaction Inventory. The survey included more than 100 questions and was administered to students in spring 2016.

Close to 550 students participated and UNA performed better than the national and state averages in a majority of the categories, which included topics such as academic advising, instructional effectiveness, concern for the individual and student centeredness. UNA faired the best in the areas of campus life and campus support services, with the students' satisfaction almost equal to the importance they placed on the topic.

"I think we were all pleased to see the results of this survey," said Dr. Ken Kitts, UNA president. "We work very hard to provide the best collegiate experience for our students, because they're the reason why we're here. When we see this affirmation of our hard work, itpushes us to keep getting better and better," he said.

Typical questions in the survey included: "I am able to experience intellectual growth here," or "Tuition paid is a worthwhile investment." UNA scored better than the national and southern averages on both of those questions, and many others as well.
